High Court asked UP Government’s Slaughterhouse Plan
Allahabad High Court asked the Yogi’s Government about the Slaughterhouse ban and gives those 10 days of time for making a strategy to shutdown the illegal butchery and meat shops didn’t debar people of their livelihood or food.

On 3rd April 2017, Honorable Justice Mr. Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Justice Mr. Sanjai Harkauli said “To provide an immediate check on unlawful activity should be simultaneous with facilitating the carrying of lawful activity, particularly that relating to food, food habits and vending thereof that is undisputedly connected with the right to life and livelihood”
From the copy available on the High Court’s site “Food that is conducive to health cannot be treated as a wrong choice” and it was the duty of the state to ensure supply of healthy foodstuff”
The state government said in court that they are following Supreme Court’s order and takes action against illegal slaughter houses.
